Political Party Primary Election

Mississippi votes one week after what is called Super Tuesday (March 5) when 16 states vote in the Presidential Primary. For Mississippi, the Presidentail Primary is March 12, 2024 and is the time for Mississippi voters to choose among Democrat or Republican Party candidates to determine who will be each party’s nominee for the General Election on November 5, 2024. Registered voters can vote in either the Democrat or the Republican Primary (but not both). If a primary runoff election is needed due to no candidate securing greater than 50% of the votes, this will be held on April 2, 2024.
